We review the supplier’s business licence, company details and factory address, comparing relevant documents with information available during the visit.
We also assess whether the supplier operates manufacturing facilities, acts as a trading company or uses a combination of its own production and outsourced work. Any limitations in the information available are noted in the report.
Production Facilities and Equipment
We inspect accessible production areas and review the equipment, production processes and staffing relevant to your products.
The aim is to understand how the supplier intends to manufacture your order and whether the observed facilities appear suitable for your requirements.
Production Capacity and Order Planning
We discuss production capacity, current workload, lead times and any subcontracted processes with the supplier.
Where supporting records are available, we review them alongside the information provided. We distinguish between what we observe, what the supplier states and what can be supported by documents.
Quality Control Procedures
We review how the supplier manages quality at different stages, including incoming materials, production and finished goods.
Depending on the agreed scope, this may include inspection procedures, measuring equipment, quality records and the handling of defective products.
Documents and Certificates
We can review certificates and supporting documents supplied by the factory, including the named company, stated scope and validity dates. Where a suitable verification source is available, we can also check the information against that source.
Document review forms part of the agreed supplier assessment. It does not replace certification by an authorised certification body or product testing by a qualified laboratory.
